Submissions are fan made ideas or suggestions that can or may be added to the game. Imagine you wanted to create something for Midnight Horrors, that be a Killer or just a new Map for the game. Through submissions, you can do that by creating the Killer/Map and then sending it directly to CaptainSpinxs, the creator of Midnight Horrors, to be potentially added to the game.

How to send a submission[]

There are a couple steps on creating a submission for the game. Most submissions are either simple ideas to suggest or ROBLOX creations that you can directly send to the creator for them to add onto the list of rollable Killers in the game. Here are a few steps on how to do this, but KEEP IN MIND in order to submit a Killer to Midnight Horrors, you MUST have a good understanding of ROBLOX Studio and how it works. That being said, here are the steps on submitting something:

STEP 1[]

(if your Killer or map has already been created based on the Midnight Horrors Submission Kit, then skip to step 4)

The first step is to grab the Midnight Horrors Submission Kit. This is the basic kit with rules to follow when making your Killer or Map, but it is mainly used for creating maps. Click this text right here to be taken to the page for the submission kit.

STEP 2[]

Insert the submission kit into the ROBLOX baseplate, and through explorer, look into the script found inside the model, titled !ReadMe! [1] Inside the script, you will see the list of rules for both maps and Killers, as well as the way to submit them. More detail on this rules will be on this page:

RULES FOR MAPS[]

  • Do not use free models
    • More specifically, create everything in the map on your own and do not use anybody else's work.
  • Put effort
    • Don't just lazily create a big platform surface with some trees or whatever and nothing else
  • Do not unionize anything
    • To be more specific, do not unionize things like doorways or slopes as it will often mess up the collision of the area. Basically, unionizing is allowed, but make sure that the collision is fine afterwards.
  • Do not add your avatar hidden somewhere in the map
  • Do not add any sneaky rooms that only you will know about
  • Do not add any elevated floors, spaces, or terrain
    • More specifically, do not add any second floors above the map. Slopes and floors that are higher than other floors are fine, but do not create any floors above an already existing floor, as the Killers usually cannot tell which floor you are on, and this can lead to the killer being stuck in one place assuming that the Player is on the floor they are on, when they are not.
  • Don't make the map any larger than the "MaxMapSize" block
    • This is referring to the big baseplate like surface that the submission kit comes with. This is the maximum size that the maps can be.

RULES FOR KILLERS[]

  • Do not submit a free model
  • Do not copy or steal anyone's model or assets
    • This rule also likely applies to submitting other peoples OC's (such as submitting an actual persons ROBLOX avatar without their permission)
  • Do not make the killer too big or small
  • Meshes and unions can be used
  • BE ORIGINAL
    • This is likely referring to OC Killers. If you are submitting an OC Killer, then don't create something that is essentially a ripoff of another Killer. This rule likely doesn't apply to Killers that are specifically meant to be characters or monsters from other games/titles.
  • Put effort

STEP 3[]

Step 3 is as easy as just creating the Map or Killer. Regarding Maps, you have to create them all on your own. With Killers, its likely that CaptainSpinxs will cover the AI scripting and perhaps even animations for your Killers (although this is not guaranteed) but everything else such as the model for the Killer itself is up to you to make.

STEP 4[]

Finally, the final step is submitting the Killer directly to CaptainSpinxs. There are multiple ways to go by this, but these two steps are the easiest.

SUBMITTING THROUGH ROBLOX[]

In order to submit through ROBLOX, you must upload your Killer/Map to ROBLOX as a model, and set it as a free model so CaptainSpinxs can actually take a look at the model. Once thats done, you may message CaptainSpinxs through CaptainSpinxs' Profile and send the link of the submission model. Once thats done, then you're all finished, and CaptainSpinxs will message you later if the model is good enough to be added to the game.

SUBMITTING THROUGH DISCORD[]

Submitting through Discord is a little harder, but makes it a million times easier to talk directly to CaptainSpinxs when submitting your submission. This step continues assuming that you have already created a Discord account created. [2]To begin, you must upload your Map/Killer to ROBLOX as a model, and set it as a free model so CaptainSpinxs can take a look at it later. Once that's done, you must join the Spinxs Studios Discord server. You may join it by clicking this invite). Once you're in, follow the steps for verification until you have access to the submission channel on the left of the screen. It should be the channel named #submissions under the "GAME RELATED" category.

Through there, you will link your submission model, and then you're all done. Once this is all done, its just a matter of waiting on whether CaptainSpinxs will message you saying your submission has been accepted or not.

Please keep in mind you MUST be 13 years or older in order to join and send your Killer/Map submission through the Discord server; joining if younger than 13 will result in you breaking Discord's ToS.
