Scavengers are Killers in Midnight Horrors.

Behavior[]

Rather than spawning from the Red Circle of Oculus, Scavengers will each spawn on a player spawn location. Scavengers will initally spawn in a group of 3. Each Scavenger will immediately begin chasing the closest player to them, initially dealing pretty low damage. However, the tanks on their back serve a purpose. With each kill, these tanks will fill up, as shown when they take something from their kill and store it in their tank. The more the tanks fills up, the more damage they do, which allows them to kill players much more easily.

While the tank is indeed used to increased damage, it's not its primary use. Once the tank is filled up, the Scavenger will ignore players and instead charge to a random spawn location. Upon reaching said spawn location, it will stop in place and 'empty' it's tank, causing large amounts of blood particles to emit from the spawn location. A few seconds later, a new Scavenger is 'created'. Due to the emptied out tank, the damage of the Scavenger will also reset.

Notes[]

  • Scavengers need at least 6 kills to create a new Scavenger.
    • Because of this, new Scavengers usually won't appear until later in the round, or maybe not even at all.
  • Scavengers will usually ignore ally NPCs.
  • Scavengers can bypass the Blue Relic.

Trivia[]

  • A Scavenger can be seen on a jail cell in BSP Station.
  • Scavengers were renamed to "Scavenger Hunters" in Version 1.20.0 (April Fools' 2021).
  • The Scavengers bare a slight resemblance to Sweepers, featured in the Indigo Ordeal from Lobotomy Corp, and as an Urban Nightmare reception in Library of Ruina.
