Specimen 9 is a Killer in Midnight Horrors. It originates from Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion, and is one of the many Specimens you come across in the game. It was readded in Version 1.23.0.
Behavior[]
Instead of chasing the nearest player, Specimen 9 will instead target a random player. Specimen 9 is just barely slower than the Ultra Coil. Upon reaching it's target, Specimen 9 will instantly kill them, before moving on to another random player.
Specimen 9 is also capable of phasing through walls, making it even more of an issue on some maze-like maps.

- Specimen 9 is extremely tiny, making it hard to see in most environments.
- Players that died to Specimen 9 will be prompted with a death screen.
- Specmen 9 will not change targets until its current target dies.

- In Version 1.55.0 (April Fools' 2024), Specimen 9 was renamed to "specimen dim".
- In Version 1.61.0 (April Fools' 2025), Specimen 9 was renamed to "Specimen 523".

Like most killers during that time, Specimen 9 will chase and pursue towards players at high speeds, possibly being much faster than Ultra Coil. Any players who made contact with Specimen 9 will be quickly killed in 2 hits with no cooldown whatsoever.
