Midnight Horrors Wiki

Spirit Hellions is a group of Killers in Midnight Horrors. They are a duo killer made up of two blue and red cats named Paya and Koko respectively. They don't originate from any source of media and are original characters made for the game. They were added in Version 1.45.1.

Behavior[]

Instead of directly chasing players upon spawning, Spirit Hellions will fight each other and ignore anyone around them. However, they will fight each other using various attacks that will also kill players caught in the crossfire of said attacks, majority of them being shared by both Paya and Koko:

  • Paya or Koko may throw one or the other to the ground, creating a shockwave that deals 50 damage to anyone caught inside the shockwave.
  • Paya or Koko may shoot a beam that goes in a straight line and seems to only stop once it hits a wall. Anyone hit by the beam will be instantly killed.
  • Paya or Koko may do a beam barrage of sorts. Each beam kills anyone hit in one blow.
  • Koko may shoot various laser beams in random directions. Each laser beam kills players who are caught nearby.
  • Everytime Paya or Koko gets hit, they gain points for a hidden meter. Given that the meter is filled and one of them is far away, thus outside of their regular punching range, they gain the ability to summon a bomb respective to their color and then send it to the ground. Each bomb will explode once contact is made with the ground and, while players will take damage based on how far they are, being inside the blast radius will ultimately kill them.
    • Kameyamama bombs and spirit bombs relatively act the same. The kameyamama bomb is meant for large maps while spirit bombs are meant for small; however, they can do either bomb regardless of the map.
    • They may summon KI bombs if their meter isn't filled. KI bombs tend to fire less and slower compared to kameyamama bomb and spirit bombs; however, they'll still likely kill anyone caught in the blast radius. Similar to kameyamamas and spirit bombs, KI bombs are meant for medium sized maps, but they can do it in any map regardless of its size.

Notes[]

  • As expected with their behavior, they don't actively chase ally NPCs; however, NPCs still die if caught in the crossfire.
  • They are stun-immune, meaning they are unaffected by defense items such as a Yolkster Plant or Metal Bat.
  • Their straight beam attack can bypass KillerIgnore.
  • Their shockwave attack bypasses the Blue Relic.
  • Because of the nature of their attacks (excluding the bombs they can summon), they may be deemed harder to survive in maps that are more open or smaller in size.
  • Using Hook Kick to kill one of the two killers will cause the second one to be completely stationary, essentially giving you a free round.

Trivia[]

  • Their old theme was Return of the Snow Queen.
  • Spirit Hellions was accidentally removed for the duration of the April Fools 2024 event.

  • In Version 1.61.0 (April Fools' 2025), Spirit Hellions were renamed to "Ultimate Showdown".
