Tower Defense is a Map in Midnight Horrors. It was added in Version 1.11.0.

Features[]

Tower Defense takes place in a grassland with giant gears and small-ish cliffs around the place. Trees and lanterns also populate the grassland. There are several short and moderately wide pathways that go around the map, with the Red Circle of Oculus on one of the outer paths. The path has many dead-ends, but seems to follow a roundabout-like theme with several alternate, longer routes around the outside. Despite the general shortage of visible obstacles, players are confined to the path as it is lined with invisible walls around the edges.

Difficulty[]

Since the map can be difficult to see (especially in Blackout or Fog rounds), players may struggle to navigate the map as the map turns to night during a round, which will give killers an easy advantage. Additionally, the presence of dead-ends can be fatal, should a player get cornered by a highly damaging killer. Finally, the abundance of darkness in general is able to completely hide a killer at times, should it have no method of emitting light.

Trivia[]

  • The characteristic of a map's accessible area being bound to a path, with invisible walls confining an otherwise (relatively) open map, is shared with Grift Outskirts.
  • This map is based of the tower defense game genre, which features enemies moving along a set path that can be defended with attacking “tower” units. However, the layout of this map does not appear to mimic any existing tower defense game.
